KEY STAGE 3
PET:
Preliminary English Test
Year Group: Year 7

FCE: First Certificate in English
Year Groups: Years 8 and 9

General Information
The English syllabus is based on the British curriculum, in order to prepare students for secondary school and eventually their iGCSEs. We incorporate syllabus preparation for Cambridge PET and FCE exams, using Cambridge course books and MOCK exams. For English First Language students, this also ensures that their English levels remain high.

KEY STAGE 4
CAE: Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English
Year Group: Year 10

General Information
As well as completing their iGCSE English Language and iGCSE English Literature coursework, Year 10 students also prepare for the CAE exam, using Cambridge course books and taking MOCK exams. Some students wait until Sixth Form to take the exam. Year 11 students do not usually sit this Cambridge exam, in order to focus on their iGCSEs.
